‘See You Yesterday’ shatters legacy of silence on Cambodian genocide

My journey to cross-cultural understanding included a search for self-knowledge, about what makes us who we are and what we’ve inherited from the generations before us. Elders are often reluctant to talk about their pasts, particularly when they involve trauma and trigger painful memories.

For second-generation Asian Americans like me who long to know more about the first generation’s histories, several stories are being documented by talented artists before the primary sources vanish.
