Protesting unionists, garment workers and monks clashed early Thursday afternoon with soldiers from the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces’ elite 911 brigade outside Yakjin garment factory in Phnom Penh’s Pur Senchey district.
At least 5 monks and 10 workers and activists were injured after soldiers hit protesters with batons and sticks, witnesses and rights groups said. All 15 were also arrested and detained at 911 brigade headquarters.
