Phnom Penh – Cambodia’s population has increased to 15.28 million by March 2019, up 14.1 percent from 13.39 million in the 2008 census, said the provisional results of the 2019 general population census released on Wednesday.
The Southeast Asian nation has the male population of 7.41 million (48.5 percent) and the female population of 7.87 million (51.5 percent), the results said, adding the average size of households was 4.6 persons, the same as that of the 2008 census.
The results said the population in the new census had not included approximately 1.23 million Cambodian migrants working abroad.
